NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 15 – Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka have rated most development-driven Governors in Coast, Rift Valley and Western region respectively.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has been ranked among the worst performing governors with an approval rating of 33.2 per cent, according to a report released by Insight Strategists Solutions (ISS) Africa.

Embu governor Cecily Mbarire has been ranked the best-performing county boss with a score of 65.4 percent in the latest survey conducted by Insight Strategists Solutions Africa. ISS Africa Friday unveiled the results of the poll conducted in all 47 counties between 24th and 26th of August 2023 focusing on the governors’ development and approval ratings.

In 2022, the economy sustained the growth momentum that started in 2021, after the recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that had significantly slowed down economic activity. However, the magnitude of growth was somewhat subdued by suppressed agricultural production, owing to adverse weather conditions during the year. The real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) decelerated from a revised growth of 7.6 per cent in 2021 to 4.8 per cent in 2022.
