MUNG’ARO, OLE NTUTU, LUSAKA MOST DEVELOPMENT DRIVEN GOVERNORS

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 15 – Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka have rated most development-driven Governors in Coast, Rift Valley and Western region respectively.Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga, Muranga Governor Irungu Kangata and Kericho Governor Wesley Rotich are leading county bosses in North Eastern, Eastern, Central and Nyanza region respectively.In the coastal region Mungaro is leading with 50.8 percent, Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir(50.3 percent),Tana River Governor Dhadho Godana (50.0 percent),Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani (44.0 percent),Tana River Governor Andrew Mwadime (24.2 percent) with Lamu Governor Issa Timamy trailing at (18.4 percent).In Western region,Lusaka tops the list at 51.5 percent, Busia Governor Paul Otuoma (48.6 percent),Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichillo (43.9 percent) and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa (36.2 percent).In North Eastern region, Guyo was listed first with 60.2 percent, followed by Mandera Governor Mohammed Khalif, Garissa Governor Nathif Jama ranked third at 45.4 percent, Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi scored 32.4 percent with Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali being ranked at 30.2 percent.In Eastern region Mbarire scored the highest at 65.4 percent, Kitui Governor Julius Malombe (59.5 percent),Tharaka Nithi Muthomi Njuki (53.2 percent),Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo (50.3 percent),Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza (50.1 percent) and Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti (32.8 percent).In the survey,Kangata is ranking first with 62.8 percent,Anne Waiguru (58.7 percent),Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie (52.4 percent),Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga (40.2 percent) and Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi (22.4 percent).In the poll ranking,Wanga is leading in the Nyanza region at 60 percent, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o (54.9 percent),Kisii Governor Simba Arati (51.4 percent),Migori Governor Ochillo Ayacko (41.6 percent),Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo (40.1 percent) and Siaya Governor James Orengo (20.2 percent).The survey was conducted between 24th and 26th of August 2023.
The survey ranked the governors based on respondent’s perception of delivery on all devolved functions including agriculture, water, health, fiscal management.
